SHEIKHUPURA: Three gunmen were killed in an alleged encounter with police near Nabipur Virkan on Friday. District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chatha said the gunmen looted cash and a mobile phone from constable Muhammad Rizwan near Bhatti-Dhilvan and fled on a motorcycle.

Patrolling and Factory Area police officials chased after them. Seeing police, the suspects opened fire and crossfire ensued.

The gunmen, identified as Shoaib, of Sheikhupura, Malik Chand, of Jandiala Sher Khan, and Husnain, of Lahore, were killed and illegal weapons and a motorcycle were found on them. Factory Area police registered a case.
