SUKKUR: A man shot dead his wife and a neighbour suspecting them of having an extramarital affair in Ali Nawaz Jakhrani village of Jacobabad district late on Wednesday evening, officials at the Abad police station said on Thursday.

They said Mohammad Ali Jakhrani shot dead his wife, Dur Bibi, in their house and then went outside and shot dead his neighbour, Gul Mohammad Jakhrani, who died on the spot. The suspect then escaped from the village along with the murder weapon, they added.

The bodies were taken to the Jacobabad Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination and then handed over to their respective heirs for burial.

Abad SHO Mian Bukhsh Dahani said an FIR (19/2015) against the suspect and his unknown associate was registered but both of them were at large.

Meanwhile, a suspect claiming to have killed his wife and her friend for a similar reason on Wednesday in another village of the district surrendered himself to the Miranpur Burirro village in Garhi Khero taluka on Thursday.

Zafarullah Buledi told police that he shot dead his wife, Sohani Buledi, 22, and Bajar Ali, 25, after coming to know about their extramarital affair in Bulandi Khan Dahani village. He guided the police about the crime scene to help them collect the bodies.

The police took the bodies in custody and booked the suspect after seizing the murder weapon from him.

A post-mortem examination of the two bodies was performed at the Jacobabad Civil Hospital before they were handed over to their respective heirs.
