Rigging allegations: Ali Ameen Gandapur sent on one-day physical remand

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday handed over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Revenue Minister Ali Ameen Khan Gandapur to police on a one-day physical remand.

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader is facing three charges, including snatching ballot boxes from the polling staff in Himad area and threatening them and police deployed there.

Strict security measures were in place inside and outside the court where a large number of PTI supporters were gathered.

Gandapur surrendered himself to the Saddar Police Station on Monday night after high drama and intervention of the central PTI leadership.

Earlier, following the registration of case against him, Ali Ameen had claimed he had not broken any law. He said he went to a polling station after learning about rigging in the counting of votes after the polling time ended.

“At the polling station, I saw our man’s rival candidates rig electoral process, I took away ballot boxes to check rigging,” he said.

We demand an independent judicial commission to probe rigging allegations in local bodies elections.Even political parties part of KPK coalition government have alleged CM Khattak of being involved in rigging.

Last year this guy was on container for 4 months to protest the rigging and irregularities in election and in this election he decided to take away the ballot boxes to check the rigging. Bravo...Just imagine if this thing was done by a sitting minister of any other party then how many comments to condemn that party can be found on this page. And this guy who took away the ballot boxes, beat a cop, refused to get arrested in first 48 hours and still kudos to Pti. !!!

It is also un-precedent that a father of MNA of PTI has been arrested by NAB KPK. Can this happen anywhere else ? no political interference or pressure from provincial govt of KPK. IK has also agreed to go for re-election wherever it is proved that rigging has taken place, again unlike PML N govt who took more than a year to agree for a judicial commission to probe rigging accusations of 2013 election.

Who is he to take ballot boxes with him. This is open proof of PTI politics of "Just criticize others". IK should address the public and take responsibility as chief of party and resign. If no then We should be prepare what NAYA Pakistan would be. WELL DONE PTI and keep it up. You guys are above the law.

So apparently Imran Khan spent 4 months giving us examples of British political system and condemning PML-N and PPP for not following their politics of high moral standards. He kept saying that in Britain, even the PM would offer resignation himself, if such allegations were made against him. Now following that principle, this guy should have resigned 3 days ago as he was there on the container clapping every time such comparisons were made. And Pervaiz Khattak should also do the same after all the rigging allegations in the LG polls.

The common understanding that has to be brought to its logical conclusion may be termed as the real change in KPK, because of courtesy shown by PTI in implementing the law with equal parameters for each and every citizen, regardless of the political standing or stature of any particular person. PTI is rocking and creating history by showing faith in its policies to dispensing justice at par.

since our childhood i have never heard of good news coming out of NWFP, now called KPK. On PTV , only Punjab and Sindh were given more time. Since PTI came into power, KPK emerged as a fast growing province. Happy to see that !!! PTI has done a great job by holding local body elections. Its one of the toughest job it has done which no other party dare to do.
