PESHAWAR: The Young Leaders of Fata Organisation, a group of youths from different parts of tribal region, will hold the ‘Lead Fata Youth Conference’ on June 7 at a hotel here to create awareness of the rights and issues of Fata people.

YLFO head Sajid Javed Afridi told reporters here on Monday that Fata people were very intelligent and talented but they had never been given opportunities to develop themselves.

He said under the current difficult circumstances, Fata people didn’t have access to facilities, especially education, and therefore, everyone, especially local youths, should come forward to raise voice for the wellbeing of the region’s people.

Afridi said it was the first conference being organised by Fata’s educated youths on their own without securing any government support.

He denied sports directorate of Fata secretariat hadn’t sponsored the event and said the directorate didn’t pay organisers even a single penny.

The YLFO head said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan would inaugurate the conference.

He said the conference would have different sessions, where noted trainers and journalists would educate students from all seven tribal agencies and Frontier Regions on how to develop their skills.

He said the event would create awareness among Fata students so that they could protect their future by developing their skills.

Accompanied by YLFO members Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Idrees Afridi, Mohammad Aslam, Sajid Ali, Shah Wali Bajauri and Abdul Hanan, the YLFO head said participants would be given shields and certificates at the conclusion of the conference.

He urged Fata youths to actively participate in the event and share opinion on issues facing them and suggest ways to address them.
