RECENTLY, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) announced jobs in the education department which requires one to fill up an online application form.

I too applied for it and while doing so, I realised that there is no option for my degree, that is BSc (Hons), available in the application process.

It was with much chagrin that I realised all graduates of four years bachelors in psychology would be unable to apply owing to a small yet highly significant and unacceptable mistake by the PPSC’s computer wing.

I checked with another friend belonging to a different subject if she was having any problem, but it only appears in the psychology slot as far as I know. My friend, belonging to economics major, had no difficulty finding BSc economics option while filling the degree slot.

I wrote an email to the PPSC stating this issue, but I am yet to hear from them. As time is short, I request that this critical error be rectified immediately so that those of us who are eligible do not miss an opportunity merely because of the incompetent programming skills of the PPSC computer wing.

It would be unfair that all psychology graduates be unable to apply through no fault of their own. The PPSC needs to look into this and ensure such crucial mistakes are not a common occurrence.
