PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Nasir Khan Durrani on Saturday suspended seven police officials of Karak district over false entry in daily dairy report (roznamcha) and faulty investigation and issued a show cause notice to a local superintendent of police over the poor supervision of investigation team.

According to a statement issued by the central police office here, Bazar Gul, a resident of Karak district, complained to the provincial police chief that his son, Amir Pervez, a 10th grader, had gone to his agricultural fields at 6am where the police killed him though he’s unarmed and had done nothing wrong.

The complainant said the policemen, who killed his son, were led by head constable Arshad and consisted of constables Bilqias, Zakirullah, Jafar Iqbal and Naeem and driver Akhtar Hayat.

He said the policemen later fled to the policemen, where they wrote a false report of the incident.

The complainant said the laboratory examination clearly showed that the gunshots, which claimed the life of his son, were fired by the police’s weapons and therefore, the case was given to a police team supervised by Karak SP (investigation) for inquiry.

“However, investigation officer Sattar Khan deliberately probed the case along wrong lines to benefit suspects. Afterwards, a joint investigation team was formed to ascertain facts of the case,” he said.

Now, the police chief, in light of the JIT probe, has suspended Karak police’s head constable Arshad, constables Bilqias, Zakirullah, Jafar Iqbal and Naeem and driver Akhtar Hayat along with investigation officer Sattar Khan and ordered a departmental inquiry against them.

He also issued a show cause notice to Karak SP (investigation) Hameedullah Baloch for poor supervision of the policemen probing the case.

1,358 POS ARRESTED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have arrested 1,358 proclaimed offenders and produced them in local courts during the last one month.

Some of them belongs to tribal areas, said a police statement issued here on Saturday.

The statement said the arrested were made during a special campaign launched in accordance with the operational guidelines issued by the provincial police chief to the relevant regional police officers.
