NOWSHERA: A woman and her son were killed, while another son and a brother sustained critical injuries when attackers opened indiscriminate fire on them in Badrashi area here on Saturday. Police said that a woman, Shaheen, her sons Abuhuraira (4), and Baesht (6), and her brother named Waqar were returning from a wedding ceremony of a relative in Peshawar when the incident occurred.

The police said that they were traveling in a rickshaw when the attackers ambushed them. As a result, the woman and her son Abuhuraira were killed on the spot, while Baesht and Waqar were injured. They were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Nowshera, where the doctors referred the injured to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Nowshera Kalan police registered the case against three accused, including Atiqur Rehman and his two sons, and began investigations.
