KARACHI: Top seed Amir Sarkhosh of Iran will start the defence of his crown when the fourth Asian 6-Reds snooker championship cue-off at the Iranian city of Kish Island on Sunday. The 6-Reds competition will be followed by team event.

Sarkhosh, who crowned the title by inflicting 7-6 defeat on Thailand’s Boonyarit Kaettikun in the last edition held at Karachi in the preceding year, is slated to face compatriot Hamed Zaredost in the opening session at 10am.

According to draws, 30 cueists from 10 nations will fight for glory. The nations include hosts Iran, Pakistan, Hong Kong, India, Afhanistan, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Palestine, Syria and Iraq.

Pakistan has fielded four cueists in the event who will open their campaign on Sunday.

B: Hamza Akbar (Pakistan), Mohammad Raees (Afghanistan), Mohammad Shiyamdeen (Sri Lanka), Mahanna Al Obaidli (Qatar), Ehsan Hyderinezhad (Iran).

C: Mohammad Sajjad (Pakistan), Lee Chun Wai (Hong Kong), Khalid Alatsel (Palestine), Mohammad Fazil (Sri Lanka), Soheil Vahedi (Iran).

D: Saleh Mohammad (Afghanistan), Kamal Chawla (India), Karam Fatima (Syria), Milad Vaihesari (Iran), Ali Gharahgozlou (Iran).

E: Omar Al Kojah (Syria), Ali Al Obaidli (Qatar), Ali Hussain Ali (Iraq), Mohammad Asif (Pakistan), Siyavosh Mozayani (Iran).

F: Au Chi Wai (Hong Kong), Ahmed Saif (Qatar), Ali Jalel Ali (Iraq), Sourav Kothari (India), Mohammad Lababi (Iran).
