RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police have launched a crackdown against motorcyclists doing one-wheeling.

Besides arresting the riders, the police will impound motorcycles modified for one-wheeling.

Youngsters are found doing wheelie on Jhelum Road near Ayub park, Airport Road and Peshawar Road. Most of the times, the motorcyclists are not wearing helmets which not only puts their lives at risk but also of others.

City Traffic Officer Shoaib Khuram Janbaz said on Friday that special squads of wardens had been deployed at Chandni Chowk and 6th Road flyovers, Airport Road, Peshawar Road and Jhelum Road to check those doing wheelie.

“All senior police officers and in charge circles had been deployed at specific points,” the CTO said, adding that cases will be registered against those violating the ban on one-wheeling and keeping modified motorcyles.
