Priyanka-starring drama series Quantico's trailer released

Priyanka Chopra has joined the FBI...
...in the new ABC drama serial Quantico, that is.
As a young recruit of the FBI Academy — "the toughest boot camp and grad school, rolled into one" — Chopra finds herself framed for the "most devastating terrorist attack since 9/11" and must do all she can to find the truth and clear her name. That's the crux of the plot revealed in the trailer released yesterday.

In the trailer, Chopra clearly looks and talks the part of a smart-talking agent — a role that sees her career branching in a new, exciting direction.
"I don’t know what I will learn from it, but it’s exciting to play the lead role in a show that is resting on my shoulders, and to work with such a great cast and crew", Chopra said to Hindustan Times.
Given that this is her first acting project in the US, fans wonder if she's had trouble adjusting to the different work culture, but the actress seems unfazed.
"I feel like I have two jobs — a day job, and a night one. At one office, I have to work in one environment, and at the other, it’s a different environment. After both, I return home to family, and to my dog. It’s an exciting phase to be in."
The actress is headed to the US in July to begin shooting for Quantico.

Bollywood, or its stars, are no longer "from that other world". Just about everyone who sees movies has heard of Bollywood.
People may not have seen any Bollywood movie, may hate them or lover them, but the point it, they are aware of the existence of Bollywood.

I am a huge fan of Priyanka Chopra. Whatever she does, I will support her. I met her in 2009 in a charity event. She is very down to earth and does not act like a superstar, she presents herself like as if she is like the rest of us. I am looking forward to watching this series.

Priyanka has created some buzz here in the US with her music videos. My non-desi American friends raved about her NFL Thursday night opening a couple of years ago. I'm sure she'll become even more popular if the series has a strong script & is well made.

As an Indian, I think its unfair to compare Priyanka with Malala. Priyanka may do some social work for women occasionally but primarily she's an entertainer. Malala on the other hand took bullets to her head for the right of women education & she's a Nobel prize winner. She's in a much higher category IMO.

@Black Sabbath : Your opinion is your own. Malala just happened to be at the wrong place in a wrong situation facing a very wrongly tolerated/encouraged terrorist. She is just an accidental activist who survived (fortunately for her) a gruesome act. Priyanka on the other hand faces/faced no such predicament in a free society. With all her wealth, fame and beauty, she doesn't even have to budge an inch from her high perch. Yet, she takes time to work for women's empowerment as much as she can. I think both are in an equally very high category IMO.

@imran khan (indian) For South Asians to succeed in American (or Western) television and movies, there needs to be a critical mass. As American audiences become more accustomed to seeing South Asian faces and personalities (as they are of Hispanic, African American, East Asian), more variety of roles will materialize and less sterotyping will take place. Archie Panjabi, Mindy Kaling, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, NPR's Weekend All Things Considered's Arun Rath, CNN's GPS with Fareed Zakaria, and others are paving the way for all South Asians, not just Indians. (That ill-fated NBC sitcom "Call Center" from 4-5 years ago, was a disaster but it did not do lasting damage.) Big difference from even ten years ago.

Your comparison of a child activist who stood up to the dreaded gun totting Taliban for women's rights with an artist who makes millions & lives the life of ultra-luxury is absurd at best. Celebrities these days hire PR firms, who get them involved with social causes so that they can become more famous & make more money. If I remember. she recently bought her way into getting a street in Mumbai named after her father when he clearly wasn't worthy of such an honor. If you want to think of Priyanka as some kind of an activist for a few speeches she may have made on the subject, be my guest.

Sorry to say, Hollywood has not given deserved respect to Bollywood.

The amount of movies bollywood produces, how come the other actors haven't bagged a major role?

Slowly but surely Bollywood would need any respect from Hollywood. In many regions of the world except South Asia, there is a craze for Bollywood. North Africa, Peru, Indonesia, Romania.
We have grown to this level without great content. In a few years time,we will surely be global.

@hasan it is not just Bollywood, no other film industry has a firm foot in U.S....so it is not bollywood's fault if Americans are close minded. However, in recent years more people is US are getting attracted to Bollywood, though Bollywood would never become mainstream because of people's attitude there
