KARACHI: Four more international airports, two in each Province, are planned to be constructed during the Third Five-Year Plan period, Mr Ekramul Haque, General Manager, Airport Development Authority, said in Karachi. He said the Planning Commission had approved the construction of these airports. In an informal chat with newsmen at the PIA headquarters Mr Ekramul Haque said this would be in addition to the Dacca international airport to be laid at the new site at Kurmitola. The four international airports will be at Rawalpindi and Lahore in West Pakistan and Chittagong and Khulna in East Pakistan. Besides, 15 heliports and small ports are also planned at various places of East Pakistan during that period with four small airports in West Pakistan.

[Meanwhile, as reported by agencies from Lahore] the Advisory Council of Islamic Ideology, which began its deliberations at the Assembly Chambers this morning [May 4], took up consideration of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961, keeping in view the criticism it faced from various circles. The opening session of the Council, presided over by Allama Allauddin Siddiqui, was addressed by the Central Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Mohammad Zafar. The Council has a heavy agenda to dispose of, including amendments to the Cr.P.C., Pakistan Penal Code, uniform pattern for public high schools and establishment of a Central and two provincial branches of [the] Censor Board to scrutinise the imported religious literature.
