KARACHI: Makran Sports FC and Young Haqqani Football Club beat rivals to reach the quarter-finals of the All Karachi Muslim Khatri Association Gulden Jubilee Football Tournament here at Noorani Eid Gah Ground on Saturday.

In the first match, Makran Sports FC beat Hazara United FC by 2-1 after an exciting contest. Striker M. Umair scored the first goal (17th minute) while Pervez scored the second (33rd). For Hazara United FC, Mohammad Ramzan scored their only goal (52nd).

In the other match, Young Haqqani Football Club defeated A-Star FC 7-6 on sudden death the scores remained tied at 1-1 in the stiplulated time. That was followed by penalty shootout and scores ended at 4-4. In the sudden death stage, Young Haqqani scored thrice to beat A-Star who could score just two goals.
