LAHORE: The Project Management Unit of the Punjab Board of Revenue arranged on Thursday a conference for representatives of the Punjab Bar Council, government members and office-bearers on the Land Record Management and Information.

The participants were apprised of importance of the project, aims and objectives and the progress made so far in this regard.

According to a handout, BoR Senior Member Nadeem Ashraf in a briefing said land record centres had been set up in 143 tehsils of the province through which ‘fard’ is being provided in a short period of 30 minutes and mutation deed in 50 minutes to the landowners.

He also highlighted the benefits of the project and said that due to this project not only best and transparent services of land record were being provided to the people but ratio of revenue received under the head of tax had also increased.

He said that according to an estimate, issuance of 165,000 computerised fards and 48,909 mutation deeds during last quarter of 2014 had fetched more than Rs1 billion.
