We harbor the notion that there’s freedom of expression in India, at least in Bollywood. But a recent comment made by actor and director Kamal Haasan suggests otherwise. Addressing a press conference to promote his film Uttama Villain, Kamal H talked about how often his films hit snags when it came to censor issues. He took the Censor Board head-on, criticising its policies without beating about the bush. This led him to claim that there’s no freedom for actors, directors and producers in India. Seriously? How does Karan Johar get away with things then?
