ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has set a target of enrolling 12,000 children when the admission will start in schools under its control.

“We have identified 12,000 out of school children in the federal capital in a survey and we will try to enroll them,” said Farida Yasmin, Director Literacy Cell of FDE.

However, some officials of the FDE told Dawn that the actual figure was higher. “Complete survey in markets and various workplaces of federal capital should have been conducted for finalizing the figure,” said a senior official of the FDE on the condition of anonymity.
