LAHORE: Three-goal Taimur Hayat Noon helped Noon’s qualify for the final of the Silver Cup Polo beating Rijas 8½-5 here on Thursday.

Though the losing side made a good start, taking two goals to half-goal lead at the end of the first chukker as four-goal Shah Shamyl Alam hit both, to end a slim half-handicap goal lead of the winners.

But the eventful second chukker saw Noon staged a brilliant comeback scoring four against two they conceded to come ahead with a slim half-goal 4½-4 lead. Their Taimur fired two and Saif Noon and Ahmed Ali Tiwana pumped in one each. For Rijas Faisal Khan and Shamyl were the contributors.

The winners increased the lead to 6½-5 in the third chukker as Saif and Ahmed contributed one more goal each. Struggling Shamyl hit his fourth goal. The winners completed the tally in the fourth chukker when Taimur and Malik Azam chipped in with one goal each.

In two chukker matches, a half-goal handicap became decisive in Diamond Paints 3½-3 win against Lotto Carpets Singapore, who won their second match against Artex International 4-2.

Diamonds Paints defeated Artex International 4-1 in their second match.
