ISLAMABAD: After returning to the assemblies, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is now anxiously looking to catch up important legislative business which the party had missed due to its seven-month boycott and its members specifically want participation in the meetings of the parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.

The 33-member main committee has not been in session for about six months and a sub-committee headed by former law minister Zahid Hamid is holding regular meetings to finalise recommendations to be presented before the parent body for approval.

However, the PTI has no representation in the sub-committee as its members were on a boycott when the main committee constituted it in October last year.

PTI’s member of the parliamentary committee Arif Alvi said his party would definitely attend the meetings of the committee that had been constituted on its demand.
