RAWALPINDI: Excessive rain has caused immense inconvenience for the residents of the twin cities. Rain lashed down from Tuesday night to Wednesday evening and the Met Office has predicted more rain in the next 48 hours.

The met office recorded 22 millimeter (mm) rain at Zero point, 28 mm at Saidpur and 30 mm at Golra in Islamabad and 25 mm at Shamsabad, 22 mm at Bokra and 21 mm at Chaklala in Rawalpindi.

According to the Met Office, more rains are expected in the wheat growing areas of the country during next two days.

Rain accompanied with gusty winds and hailstorm is expected in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A prediction for rain and hailstorm in areas of Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also been made.

Due to unstable weather conditions, the farmers in Sindh and Southern Punjab have been advised to keep themselves abreast with the daily weather reports of the Met Office to minimise the damage to crops during the harvesting period.
