KARACHI: A magnificent century from opener Farrukh Rizvi propelled Hinopak Motors into the final round of the 20th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket League with their fifth Group ‘A’ match here on Saturday.

Farrukh blasted 176 — his third century of the competition – off 145 balls as Hinopak Motors defeated FBR by 77 runs at the TMC Ground.

Batting first, Hinopak Motors amassed 335-5 in their 50 overs with Farrukh, who made 157 and 148 in earlier matches, striking 19 boundaries and three sixes while dominating the first-wicket partnership of 170 with Asad Nawab (77, seven fours).

Umar Arshad scored a rapid 21-ball 45 as he helped Farrukh add 103 for the second wicket.

FBR, in reply were all out for 258 in 43.1 overs.

Rangoonwala rode on a splendid knock of 126 (79 balls, 15 fours and seven sixes) from Adnan Akhtar to outclass Mustafa Enterprises at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.

In matches played on Friday, Dubai Hawks upstaged Qasmi Tibbi College by 46 runs and Lahore Mills Store sealing a seven-wicket win over BBC Foods.
