NAB arrests ‘fraudster’

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested a functionary of Islamic Investment Company Limited for depriving innocent people of Rs47 million in the name of doing Islamic mode of business.

A NAB spokesman on Wednesday said that during the course of inquiry it was revealed that the suspected person, Qazi Mohammad Naeem, lured people to invest their money in the fake company with the name of Islamic Investment Company Ltd on the promise that they would be paid huge profits on their investment.

He said that Naeem after few months not only stopped paying profits but also refused to pay back invested money of innocent people and disappeared from the scene.

The spokesman said that Zeeshan Firdos of the same company had already been arrested and lodged in judicial lockup, adding that Naeem would be produced before accountability court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.

The NAB spokesman said that any person having claims against the Islamic Investment Company was requested to submit his claims with relevant documents to NAB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, without delay.
