THE city police have a new uniform which is grey in colour. The changeover must have cost millions of rupees.

I fail to understand the need for this change especially when other requirements of the police are more pressing and demanding in nature.

Will the change make the police force more efficient? Will it reduce corruption in the department or the police stations become people friendly? I don’t think so.

Perhaps, whoever proposed the idea can enlighten citizens about the need for this change.
