KARACHI: Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) Chief Commissioner Muhammad Irshad on Wednesday said that all the pending refund claims would be disposed of by the end of this month.

During his visit to All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma), he informed that show-cause notices have been issued against deferred amounts and asked the claimants to provide supportive documents to get their refund claims cleared.

He said that refund of Rs3 billion had been sanctioned during the last eight months.

The LTU has extended the last date for clearing the refund claims to March 31, 2015 on the demand of Aptma, he added.

Issues related to withholding of sales tax from exporters; refund claims deferred on account of non-verified supply chain invoices and pending sales tax; income tax and tax paid on services were also discussed.
