GUJRANWALA: The Government Girls Elementary School, Kotli Addo, has been without its building since its establishment some 22 years ago.
Villagers, however, offered one-kanal land to the district government for the construction of the school building.
Reports said that Muhammad Ramzan and other villagers submitted an application to Gujranwala District Coordination Officer Azmat Mehmood stating that students were forced to sit either under trees or in a mosque to continue their education in the absence of school building.
They said, on the direction of the district government sometime back, students of high classes were shifted to Government Girls School, Butteranwali, and they had to cover several kilometres daily to reach their school.
The DCO has sought a report from the executive district officer (Education) and revenue officers in this regard.
