ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday that the government is committed for an early establishment of Customs-coordinated border management to facilitate trade with neighbouring countries.
“We are aware of the importance of coordinated border management and the Federal Board of Revenue has been working proactively on the issue,” the minister said while addressing at the World Customs Day ceremony on Monday.
Dar expressed the confidence that Pakistan Customs would strive for a better service delivery, cheaper rates, less waiting times and wider sharing of information and intelligence between all stakeholders.
“We, as a responsible member of the international community, have already established national contact points to share and disseminate relevant information for a better and coordinated management of our borders,” Dar remarked.
He said Pakistan Customs has made strides in recent years in achieving better visibility with its partners, including the international organisations, the business community, the development partners and other international trade stakeholders.
