SIALKOT: The Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) resorted to unprovoked intensified heavy mortar shelling on Sunday on several Pakistani villages along the Working Boundary.
According to Chenab Rangers’ officials, the villages targeted by the Indian border guards included Charwah, Joyiaan, Harpal, Dhamaala, Bajra Garhi, Umeraanwali, Rangor and Bhagiyaari in the Charwah Sector of Working Boundary.

The Rangers officials said that the Indian BSF, violating the ceasefire accord, started shelling at 2.20am on Sunday which continued till 3:50am.
In the shelling after a week-long lull, the BSF targeted the civilian population. However, several of the mortar shells that landed in the fields did not explode.
The Chenab Rangers retaliated effectively, making the Indian to fall silent, the senior CR officials said. No loss of life or any injury was reported, they said. But several houses in some villages were damaged, they added.
