KARACHI: Amit Ravi and Akhtar Waleed shared limelight as Tapal CC trounced Asghar Ali Shah CC by 206 runs in their KCCA President Cup fixture at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium here on Tuesday.

Amit struck a fine 102 from 121 deliveries (five and fours and one six) to help Tapal CC collect 294-4 in the allotted 45 overs. Abdullah Kareem bludgeoned four sixes and six boundaries in making 59 while Touseef Khan hit 52 (three fours) and Anop Ravi 50 (six boundaries).

Akhtar then grabbed five wickets for just four runs in eight overs with five of them maiden as Asghar Ali Shah CC were dismissed for a dismal 86 in 28 overs.

Paceman Mohammad Iqbal captured four wickets for 19 runs in helping Easter Star CC defeat New Sangam Sports by eight wickets at the TMC Ground.

Royal CC also sealed an eight-wicket victory over Korangi Selected at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Leg-spinner Ijaz Shah excelled with a good all-round performance. First he claimed three wickets for seven runs with his leg-spinners and then contributed 39 with the bat.
