KARACHI: Balochistan No 1 Taimoor Aftab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa No 2 Mohammad Kashif met their fate after suffering successive defeats on the second day of the seventh national junior under-21 snooker championship at the Movenpick Arcade on Tuesday.

Rank outsider Mohammad Bilal blanked Taimoor straight 42-15, 58-57, 55-19 to register his second win in group E and earn a place in last-16 round.

Another outsider Adil Zafar, who went down to Mohammad Ibrahim in his group F opener on Monday, coasted to 3-2 victory over Kashif after conceding first two frames. Adil won the duel 23-63, 38-48, 67-29, 48-18, 81-40 which include a brilliant break of 73 in the fifth frame.

Besides Bilal, nine other cueists who were through to the last-16 round were Mohammad Saqib (group B), Mohammad Nouman Iqbal and Amir Tariq (group D), Haris Tahir and Mohammad Bilal (group E), Mohammad Ibrahim (group F), Mohammad Faheem and Mohammad Hassan Anwar (group G), Fahad Khan and Mohammad Adil (group H).

The league concludes on Wednesday and the knockout round starts from the following day.
