KARACHI: Hundreds of people, including children and women, participated in a rally organised by a Christian charity to express solidarity with the families of the Peshawar school massacre.
The rally organised by the Alpha Mission International started its march from the Gora Qabristan and terminated at the Karachi Press Club.
The participants were riding camels, camel-carts, four-wheelers and motorcycles. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans expressing solidarity with the families of the Peshawar massacre and the armed forces who were fighting against militants in the restive tribal areas in the northwest of the country.
Scores of participants were attired in Santa Claus who later distributed gifts among the participants and passersby in what organisers described as a gesture of love.
Representatives from the minorities’ wings of Pakistan Peoples Party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Jamaat-i-Islami also joined the rally.
