RAWALPINDI: Two robbers snatched Rs1.4 million from a cashier of a private company who was heading to a bank in Defence Housing Authority Phase I to deposit the amount on Tuesday, police said.

Sajid Saqlain, the owner of the company, lodged a complaint with Morgah police, stating that he had sent his cashier, Shaukat Hayat, to deposit Rs1.4 million at a private bank. When he was near the bank, a car in which two men were travelling blocked his way. One of the occupants got off the car and snatched the cash bag at gunpoint.

Soon after robbers escaped, Rescue 15 was alerted, but they were unable to trace the culprits.
