CAIRO: An Egyptian court has dismissed criminal charges against former president Hosni Mubarak in connection with the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising that ended his nearly three-decade reign.
Mubarak, 86, was also acquitted of corruption charges that he faced along with his sons Alaa and Gamal.
Mubarak was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2012, but the verdict was overturned on appeal.
Saturday's verdict concludes his retrial along with his two sons, his security chief and six of his aides, who were all acquitted. Also on trial was businessman Hussein Salem, a longtime Mubarak friend tried in absentia.

Clearly Sisi's courts believe in the dictum "The King can do no wrong." Egypt now has saint in the form of "Saint Hosni Mubarak".
Well done Egyptian courts. Your justice is exemplary.

Hosni Mubark is already on death bed. Giving him death penalty for the crimes he committed, against humanity, will not make any difference to him.

And this is how, boys and girls, dictators and despots are rewarded in Muslim countries. The dictators and mullahs will always tear democracy part.

@Muhammad Iqbal Typical illiterate view which unfortunately I hear on a regular basis from fellow Muslim brothers. Its nothing to do with corruption or own fault its all the fault of the west and America. If you had followed the story you would have known that at the time both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Sisi supporters were both accusing the other of being backed by America and this is what we do we simply blame foreign conspiracies instead of holding our leaders to account.
The American in fact cut some aid after the coup but guess who stepped in the Saudis and the UAE since they can not stomache the thought of a democratic success in that part of the world so why don't you channel our blame there. As for Musharraf well I would suggest you analyse date from a web site called trading economics and compare his performance to the so called democrats. You might learn a thing or two.

@Sunil it might not make any difference to him but history would show him as a criminal, which he is.

Of course. Who said it is easy to find dictators guilty? More likely, all charges dropped, you're free to go back to your castle and enjoy your 'hard earned' money.
