PTI chief says he is ready to follow court orders

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday said that he would follow the orders of the court and go to jail.

“According to the decision of the anti-terrorism court, I am a dangerous man. It also declared me a proclaimed offender today, which is why I should go to jail as per the decision of the court,” Khan said while addressing participants of the sit-in at D-Chowk.

The PTI chief said it was difficult to understand the court’s decision to declare PTI leaders proclaimed offenders, including KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar.

“Before leaving D-Chowk, I had announced that PTI workers would not damage public property at any cost, and my speech is on record,” he said.

He said Adeel, a PTI supporter and a resident of D.G. Khan, was in Adiala Jail for the last over 27 days allegedly for attacking PTV.

“Due to weak judicial system, no one is ready to issue arrest warrant for the ‘corrupt’ rulers,” he added.

“I feel proud that Zubair Qureshi, a PTI leader, challenged the appointment of Maryam Nawaz as head of the Prime Minister Youth Loan Programme in court,” the PTI chief added.

The PTI chief warned the PML-N government to fulfill his party’s demands by November 30.

The question is whether PML(N) dare to follow court orders? Its in the interest of PTI and PAT that IK/TUQ get arrested so that they can bring their people on street and can launch a agitation movement which is definitely not going to favor NS and his allies.

You're mistake. Unfortunately, court did not dare to remove Maryam! She resigned under public pressure. The current court system can never order against the current govt as they are working for them, not for us. This is what IK has been saying for long. We two system when it comes to justice. Every rule/law and beyond is applied for poor but no rule/law for elites! IK whole Pakistan is with you apart from a few.

There is no danger that our hero IK will go to jail. A Court, any Court would only want him to apply for bail. He knows this. He will get the bail and the case will last for a year, if not , for years.

@Kashif Jilani a slap on the wrist cannot be compared to a punch in the face. PML-N accepeted because of the same reason, the real test will be if a bigger decision is taken by the court and then accepted by the govt. Model town issue a key example where govt kept dragging the issue and forced judiciary into a new ruling. How many FIR's have you heard of that went to high court just to get registered. And to top it off judge announced that 302 was bailable, which has never been heard of before.

With the failure of Jalsa`s and Dharna, IK is hoping going to Jail would win Public Sympathy. But People dont bother about IK as no one cares about him any more as they see him as nuisance value. Anyhow, police wont arrest him and will arrest only when pressure from the courts mount on the Government.

The sit - in has succeeded or not but at least IK has the courage to stand against the status quo which we all know has been busy in looting the wealth of the country. What is wrong in the demands that all the institutions should be made independent/autonomous without political interference? the tax payer may ask why are the so - called leaders spending his money to their personal interest? why the corrupt is not punished? These demands are just and the weakening of the system is reflected by the fact no institution is coming forward to play its role. Hats off to IK.

It would be unfortunate if the people of Pakistan lost this opportunity to reform the country and get rid of the feudal s and democratic dictator. Pakistanis are generally emotional and have a very short memory. Some one said that beggars can't be choosers, as a nation the people need to think. At the end of the day I am a Pakistan and I belong to Pakistan and my generations would be living in Pakistan so I have an interest in the country's future and what it will bring to the people or my generation. All this country need is an honest and sincere leader and a leader from the masses not feudals

IK you are the hero of millions of Pakistanis. If you go to jail then I guess all of your supporters should also ask the courts to send them to jail as a symbolic jail movement to show that the entire nation is with the captain through thick and thin and would not leave him. Let the entire nation, which supports IK, go to jail and let Zardari and Nawaz enjoy the vip culture which they desperately want. Let the whole world know that it is now our time to not leave our captain alone. The nation stands united with IK whether he wins or loses. IK stay humble and patient and Allah would InshAllah help you.

@Kashif Jilani The courts only act on the police/investigative rapports. In Mariyam's case, court did'nt need such investigation as it wasn't a criminal case. In Imran's case it is not the court to blame but the Islamabad police who charged him with the offence. The courts are just a mode used by the government to do what they feel fit. And exactly this is what PTI is fighting against.

According to Mr. Hashmi,the former president of PTI, the supporters of PTI/PAt went out of control and started taking decisions on their own. In such a chaos, the leaders could not control the mob. IK/TUD should have known the mob mentality, if they did not, its their fault.IK/TUQ entered the red zone after they had promised that they would not enter the red Zone. They broke their promise, the best for IK is surrender to the authorties and find a good lawyer to get out of this mess but It will be very hard to get the ceditability back. IK had a good future but lost it by aligining with PAT.

@Zaheer Hassan: You want IK and TQ turned into Gandhi, the liberator of Pakistan. Pakistan does not need Azaadee. It is already an Aazaad country liberated by Mohammad Ali Jinnah. If Mr. Imran Khan or Maulana Qadri have reason to believe that government of Pakistan must be changed, absolutely no problem. There are mechanism built in the constitution of Pakistan to change government and that will be when a new election takes place. All it needs patience, If anyone feels Pakistan has illegal government, the only recourse is to seek justice in courts and not pronounce his/her own judgment.
