QUETTA: Six militants were killed on Friday evening in Balochistan's Bolan district, security forces claimed.

Sources said a number of raids were conducted by security forces, during which the militants were killed.

Eight other militants were also arrested during the raids, according to security sources.

They also recovered rocket launchers and other weapons from the militants' possession.

Sources said that the raids were conducted in the mountainous range of Bolan.

However, the claims could not be verified by independent sources. The arrested militants were later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Sources said the militants were involved in a series of attacks at vital national installations and security forces.

In recent times, militants have intensified their activities in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.

Balochistan is home to a low-level insurgency by ethnic Baluch separatists. Al-Qaida-linked militants also operate in the region
