KARACHI: Two cup races — The Iqbal Day Cup and The Performance Cup — figures prominently in a six-race card that has been drawn for the Gymkhana race meeting which takes place at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The day coincides with the birth anniversary of great poet and philosopher Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal.

Eight horses are in run for The Iqbal Day Cup scale order I to be run over six furlongs.

The Performance Cup which is a term race for two-year-old Pak colts and fillies and to be gone over five furlongs, has seven acceptors.

The races are being held after a break of fortnight due to observance of Moharram.

The first race of the programme gets into action at 1pm.
