People of Sindh in favour of new provinces: Altaf

KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain said that the majority of people of Sindh had given their verdict in favour of provinces by observing a 'Black Day' on Sunday.
In a statement issued by the MQM, Hussain paid tribute to the people of Sindh and claimed that PPP feudal lords had never accepted the Urdu-speaking Sindhis or Mohajirs as true Sindhis.
"The PPP sowed the seeds of prejudice and hatred in 1973. The PPP claims to be a national political party but history bears out that it has always used the Sindh card and not the Pakistan card," said the statement.
"The people have spoken about the need for new provinces in Sindh and the rest of Pakistan," the MQM leader said.
Hussain said it was the unanimous decision of the Sindhi-speaking people and the Urdu-speaking people that together they would pull down the outdated feudal system and corrupt political culture.
He asked office-bearers of Hyderabad Zone and other zones to thank the Sindhi-speaking people and other nationalities in their areas for observing the 'Black Day'.
Hussain also thanked transporters, business community and other people belonging to different walks of life for keeping their businesses closed on the occasion.
He also thanked workers and sympathisers in Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir for taking part in peaceful demonstrations.

Yes, we are in the favor of new province. I am from Kahirpur. Our members just come Khairpur time of election rest of the time they live in Karachi & Islamabad. If there will be more provinces they will be forced to live in their constituency. It will also break Wadera System and allow poor HARI (Farmer) to become MNA or MPA.

Without ballot nobody has the right to speak for the of Sindh while sitting in London. In the next election, there should be proposition " Whether there should be another province in Sindh or not?" The decision of creating a new province in Sindh should depend on the results of the proposition.

It is not a bad idea what Altaf Hussain is saying, if it will help get rid of the Wadaras and corrupt politicians. It is hopeless situation as it is. It is not working. There is nothing wrong if there are more provinces, and may be a better coexistence, and may be a better Pakistan.

I fully support Altaf Hussain for creation of new administrative units not only in Sindhi but through out Pakistan for more stronger Pakistan. India who is the best example of it.

Division of state is not big issue in any country. If state is small then development of any state may be very easily . Large state can't full developed in all respected fields like industry,social and cultured Development. if people may be happier with small province then no problem should be occurred for central administration expect fund distribution among state. Small province can be easily developed rather than large state . State Administration should be weaker than central administration.

A silent majority of Urdu Speaking Sindhis living in Karachi and in other parts of interior Sindh, have rejected the demand for separate province for Mohajir, which is advocated by MQM out of its frustration. The Urdu Speaking people have a developed a strong bond of relationship with their Sindhi brothers.

If PPP was sowing seeds of hatred than why MQM was in partnership with them over decades. Black day was not observed in support of MQM it is rather an effort by businessmen to protect themselves.

MQM is not going to back off from its demand of a province this time and they will force it sooner than later. PPP should concede gracefully lest the situation descends into a civil war in which MQM will have all the advantages because of their well structured organisation and cohesion.

New province in Sindh is imminent and in favor of everyone not only one or two group. However new province in Punjab is also a requirement due to very high and dense population. Pakistan population is 18 Crore and 4 province, Canada Population is 3 crore and 11 Province and 2 Territories.

Their should be more Province based on the administration right for the people living in that place. Indeed karachi should be made a province but not based on mahajir , Sindhi, Punjabi, Pathan or Baloch. rather based on the need and rights for peoples living in karachi
Under current corrupt system of PPP and deshat gardi by MQM , PPP and ANP this is not possible. 1st these deshatgardi should end and People living in karachi regardless of which language they speak or where they come from in Pakistan should be given equal rights and selection should be on Merit

No problem keeping all provinces intact as they are. What you need is to get puse string loosen up a bit, so only CM does not control all development MONEY. In absense of local bodody goverments, make many smaller "Administratine Units". Sindh Soth, Sindhh North, Sindh East, Sindh West. Same for Punjab & so on. Tax collected/ budget money gets divided to different admis. units or regions, so local administration spend money as per developmental priorities. One person controlling all money is no good. More Administrators, more ideas. In any case, accountability is MUST.

We need more provinces throughout the country not only in Sindh. The movement for new province should be combined from all over the country not just in Sindh or by MQM.
MQM needs to involve other group and let them heard as well. The new provinces will not divide the country but unite.

Needs more provinces, easy to manage. Eliminate ethic division and wadera kingdom. Provide more leadership. Accountability will be possible; power will share many instead of one party or one chief minister. Current division is based on ethnic background which is a cancer for our society. Automatically it will be reduced and inshallah will eliminate. We will be only proud Pakistani.

For Ireland--- they didn't do referendum in all over England--- did they -- referendum is for the concerned population or area.
Example----- you want referendum in all over India for Kashmir or you want referendum only specific for Kashmir people ? Because if it's all over India -- you will loose Kashmir.--- what do you think ?

Sir it is Altaf Hussain who is claiming people of Sindh want division of province. And this doesn't just mean Karachi and Hyderabad. Therefore to check his claim it would be logical to hold referendum throughout Sindh.
