MULTAN: The Khanewal police will be a complainant in the case of rape attempt of a girl with special needs.

Khanewal District Police Officer Rana Ayaz Saleem said the bus driver of a school for children with needs tried to rape the girl with hearing and speech impairments but the family refused to initiate any legal action against the suspect.

He said the class 10 student reported the matter to the school administration as well but the principal only got transferred the suspect to Kabirwala.

He said the police spoke to the family of the girl but they refused any legal action.

He said in case the family did not loge a first information report, the police would become the complainant and the case would be lodged against the suspect.
