KARACHI: Unknown armed assailants on Friday set alight an office of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Karachi's Moach Goth area.
According to initial reports, armed assailants on four motorcycles came to the area where PPP's camp office had been set up to facilitate local residents ahead of its public gathering at Quaid's mausoleum on Saturday (tomorrow).
The attackers resorted to unprovoked aerial firing after setting the PPP camp office on fire, causing panic and terror in the area.

In the fire, the camp office was fully burnt with flags, pamphlets and other material for the rally turned to ashes.
Today's attack comes a day before PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari prepares to address a rally at a ground close to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in the provincial capital tomorrow.
The ruling party in Sindh expects the rally under its young chairman Bilawal to mobilise its workers in Karachi and other parts of the province.

Why don't PPP focus on 'performance' and not on 'rallies'. Appointing a 85+ years old CM and allowing his 'aunty' to interface in the provincial administrative matters openly and appointing the most inefficient cabinet in Sindh, is what the PPP has proved to be the party of 'kick-backs' and 'commissions'.

PPP of ZAB & Benazir is dead. Now what is going on in PPP is hate campaign. PPP can never control Urban Sindh. Also PPP cannot get revive under Bilawal Zardari. Most of the members are more concerned about self than the public. PPP is fast converting to regional party. Few Big mouth in PPP are responsible for the decline. In Sindh politics Mohajirs have a very big & firm role to play the sooner PPP genuinely realizes the better it will be for Sindh.

Looks like the old victim card is played here. The big problem with Bilawal Zardari is lack of charisma and that cannot be learned. It is similar to Amitabh and Abhishek, one has it, the other one does not.

this seems like an in house stunt from PPP. They will pay / force people to come from all over the Sindh and fill up the park to show their strength. They know they cannot afford a weak Jalsa as they are launching out future ruler (sarcastically) Mr. Bilawal. They would like to show that despite all the danger and commotion, so many people showed up. This is a message to PPP in Punjab that the party is still alive and strong and their Punjab chapter should stick with them.

@Youth.. Well muhajirs have no major role in Sindh politics but PTI will soon play an important role especially in urban Sindh. PTI has arranged highly successful rallies in Karachi, which was earlier, the sole domain of MQM. Things have changed...
