ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said they would protect the country's independence, integrity and national security at any cost, DawnNews reported.
He said the negotiations suspended between Pakistan and India’s foreign secretaries has endangered peace in the region.
Earlier in August, Delhi had called off the August 25 meeting of foreign secretaries of the two countries because of the Pakistani high commissioner’s consultative session with a Hurriyat leader.

The interior minister was holding a press conference soon after a meeting of the National Security Committee, with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair, condemned unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) and working boundary by Indian security forces.
PM Nawaz told the meeting that Pakistan's desire for peace should not be misunderstood and called upon India to immediately honour the sanctity of LoC and working boundary and halt firing for durable peace.
The interior minister said peaceful relations between countries was the best way to go about, adding that they would not accept India’s domineering in the region.
Nisar said 13 innocent Pakistani civilians had died as a result of Indian firing along the border. He said that they would apprise United Nations chief Ban Ki Moon and five other nations of Indian's hostility.
He alleged that unprovoked firing by Indians seemed to have a specific purpose and said that it should recognise that Pakistan is a nuclear power.
Nisar said Pakistan would give a befitting response to India's aggression along the border, adding that the country's troops were fully capable in this regard.
Nisar on Malala's Nobel win
Chaudhry Nisar also said that Malala's Nobel Peace Prize Award was a proud moment for the whole of Pakistan.
He said the population in Swat — which is Yousufzai's hometown — also expressed their congratulations to the 2nd Pakistani recipient of the prestigious prize.
Nisar said it was the first time in history that a minor had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
"The country's brave daughter has made each and ever Pakistani proud," he said.

Really interesting to see how Indians are defending themselves here too. Don't know but someone has put into their minds that they are big now and with Modi in power they can do what they weren't able to do in last 67 years. It's not the first time when India start firing and then start blaming Pakistan. Unfortunately we don't have leaders like Musharaf or Ayub Khan in power to make them learn how to respect a neighbour's boundary. Just two towards for Modi and company "DON'T UNDERESTIMATE"

Sir: I am sick and tired of Pakistan's India is domineering bogey. India is territorially 4 times larger and has a population almost 10 times bigger and has two deadly sworn enemy countries on its borders. What is India supposed to do? It is only maintaining sufficient military power to defend itself and is making astonishing progress on all other fields including in the engineering, technology and space fields. Pakistan should shed its India phobia and concentrate on developing the country and improving the lives of its people and build genuine democracy and not one dominated by the military.

Nawaz Sharif governance methodology to say the least is ridiculous.The Press Conference on the issue of Indian aggression in which atleast 13 people have embraced Shahadat should have been held by the PM or the FM or the Defence Minister.He should have known that the press conference of the PM sends a different message,that of National Security Advisor/ FM / Def Minister each has a different conotation.The Press Conference of the Interior Minister sends altogather a different but a weak response message.The Nawaz government seems unable to understand the peoples sentiment and tailor an effective and firm response.

For God's sake, India doesn't have any rationale to provoke ceasefire violation. It won't be making illogical and irresponsible to fire across the border without any reason.
For Pakistan army, this is the essential time to provide this distraction so that the infiltrators can cross over before the snow starts pouring in.

To all the youngsters in this forum. Would like to just say a few things.
-Read up on history.
-No one benefits with hearing to false statements & information from the political elite.
-South Asia has been bleeding and have not been able to catch up with the rest of the world, where once this region was the richest at one time. (Guess which are the foreign and internal powers which keep you away from it)
From my perspective, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Nepal can create a beautiful commercial Eco-system to ensure the growth for all of us. I have seen small countries in South East Asia.
Peace to all and happy that the idiocy has stopped. (At least for time being)

Pakistan always invokes the UN because it has no credible agency to do its own investigations. For instance, there were calls even to allow the UN to investigate Benazir's death. The UN should also be called in to investigate Balochistan missing persons and Osama's stay without visa in Pakistan. But will that happen?

Sorry to hear that Minister cannot accept India's domineering. How can anyone stop India's economic domineering. Three largest Indian companies have bigger revenue than Pakistan's national GDP. Imagine if Pakistan did not have nuclear bombs(which cannot be used without being suicidal) and no doll from USA, what will be Pakistan's economic condition. Be realistic.

referendum in Scotland was done after almost 350 years.. we'll also do it in Kashmir after about 280 years.. OK ??
The UN resolution tells Pakistan to remove all forces from Kashmir before any referendum can take place.. you ready to do that??

Everyone knows what UNO has done to Iraq-Iran. UNO is just another name of America who resolves issues in a way to benefit itself. Having said that I don't support war in any aspect. I wont blame any country but The governance does this only for its own benefit, not for people. And then they leave us to abuse each other. Modi, Nawaz Sharif- neither of them is ever going to die from this. We get affected. Here, we clap when Modi says they learned their lesson. Who did? I mean innocent people.

EVERYTHING IS FAIR IN POLITICS.
Nawaz and Modi met in USA. One facing Dharnas other facing opposition and riots in his own State of Gujarat. They discussed bilateral relations, talked about their own problems, came back to their respective countries, tried to deviate people from the prevailing problems, One started cleaning TOILETS other started talking to the ARMED Forces, situated not improved. Moved to plan "B", have some PLAY at the borders as people of both the countries are quite patriotic, forget everything and start concentrating on ENEMY's intentions.

I am a Pakistani but I have to admit India has progressed and left Pakistan in the dust in each and every facet. There is really no comparison anymore. Whereas India is rubbing shoulders with the USAs, the UKs and the Germanys of the world, we keep sinking deeper and deeper in petty internal policies, politics and misgovernment.
The bottom line is, India has earned the right to dominate. The utterances and muttering of our rulers are just hot air.

Now having said that ------ we should learn from India rather than fighting.

@Amir : In India we have strong reasons to believe that Pakistan started firing first and that too across the international border. Vacating villages bordering IB before Pakistan firing started is the best evidence that the army has planned it to internationalize the K issue that has been pushed to the back burner by India. Personally I feel sad for the loss of innocent lives lost on both sides. Today, the Indian media reports that Pakistan has started raining shells after two days of quietness which is being kindly responded to. The cost of every shell fired is one less roti for the common man in both countries. I am compelled to believe what my country tells me as you are but it is not going to sustain us for long through violence. You and me have to extract that extra paisa that would have gone in to education or health care of our families to buy more shells to use against each other and nothing other than more animosity and bad blood!!

India has no reason to start firing along LOC of Kashmir but Pakistan has two main reason, first is to keep the Kashmir issue alive and to catch attention of international community and UN, second is to infiltrate militant. If you look back history, India never attacked Pakistan first but Pakistan army provoked India to do so.
