Dir PTI to protest against coalition partner

TIMERGARA: The local chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold protest demonstration against, Jamaat-i-Islami, its coalition partner in the provincial government, for its involvement in posting and transfer of government employees in the district.

Addressing a news conference at Timergara Press Club here on Thursday, PTI district general secretary Ali Shah Mishwani alleged that Jamaat-i-Islami forced the provincial government to replace Dr Tahir Bashirud Din Khilji, the medical superintendent of district headquarters hospital Timergara.

Flanked by PTI former candidate for PK 94 Malik Inam Khan, information secretary Aziz Sarhindi and Malik Rahatullah, he said that the officer was replaced by Dr Hanifullah, who even did not belong to the management cadre of health department.

The PTI leaders said Dr Khilji was an honest person, who completed several development projects, restored merit, vacated hostel rooms from illegal occupants and improved service delivery.


Accuses Jamaat of involvement in posting and transfer


They said that JI lawmakers replaced him in violation of the court decision. They said the JI wanted to appoint 18 Class-IV and 14 general technicians of their choice on the vacant posts in health sector for which replacement of Dr Khilji was essential.

They demanded cancellation of his transfer order and threatened that PTI workers would take to streets against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak if the demand was not met.

EID: The Talash Dushkhel Qaumi Jirga and religious scholars on Thursday announced to celebrate Eidul Azha on Oct 5.

The decision was made in a meeting of the jirga held in Kalpani area with Qazi Abdul Salam in the chair.

Besides members of the jirga and local elders, 40 prominent prayer leaders attended the meeting. Qari Saeedullah, Qazi Irfanud Din, Talash Dushkhel Qaumi Jirga president Mohammad Ibrahim, general secretary Dr Noor Mohammad and Malik Taj Mohammad addressed the meeting.

It was decided Eidul Azha would be celebrated on Oct 5 in the area and Eir prayers would be offered in all mosques in the four union councils of Talash. It will be the first time that people of the area will observe Eid a day before the federal government that has announced Eid on Oct 6.

PYO: The local chapter of People Youth Organisation (PYO) welcomed Advocate Alamzeb Utmani on his arrival here after his selection as provincial general secretary of PYO.

The PYO activists termed his selection an achievement of the local workers. They brought Mr Utmani to the press club in a big procession.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Utmani said that that PYO would fight for the rights of youth. He said that he would utilise all his energies and abilities to unite the workers and strengthen PPP in Dir Lower.

KILLED: A second grade girl student identified as Dania Bibi was killed when a wall of a house collapsed in Ouch Gharbi area.

The family members said that the girl had gone to a relative house and was playing in the street when wall of a nearby house collapsed. She was injured and taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
