KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, will ensure implementation of the code of conduct for the collection of hides in the metropolis and other measures will be taken to maintain law and order during Eidul Azha.

These decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by DG of Rangers Major Gen Bilal Akbar, according to the spokesperson for the paramilitary force.

The meeting participants reviewed the security arrangements for the forthcoming Eidul Azha.

The DG of Rangers was briefed on measures taken by the paramilitary force to ensure foolproof security.

The Rangers chief instructed the sector commanders to ensure implementation of the code of conduct for collection of hides.

He also directed officials to monitor meetings of different stakeholders being held to devise a mechanism for collection of hides.

“No organisation will be allowed to collect hides door to door,” according to the Rangers spokesperson. “Permission letters from the home department and DCs will be mandatory for collection of hides, strict action will be taken against individuals brandishing firearms, rods, sticks or weapon of any kind,” said the statement.

No one will be allowed to carry even a licensed weapon.
