LAHORE: The fourth consecutive PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week got off to a spectacular start at the landmark Faletti’s Hotel by showcasing the trousseau collections of 15 designers in addition to the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Show featuring five emerging bridal designers Akif Mahmood, Mahgul, Seher Tareen, Sofia Chishti and Wardha Saleem during its three-day run.

Besides presenting bridal fashions, the event also promotes hair and make-up trends and styling teams comprising Maram Aabroo and Khawar Riaz on Day One and Nabila/N-Gents will exhibit trends for the current season. L’Oreal will also take the opportunity to launch a special make-up kit according to an official communication.

The participating designers include HSY, Sania Maskatiya, Asifa & Nabeel, Saira Shakira and Karma Red (Day One); Shamaeel Ansari, Fahad Hussayn, Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Show, Zara Shahjahan, Ammara Khan and Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio (Day Two); and Nomi Ansari, Nida Azwer, Misha Lakhani, Nickie Nina and Sana Safinaz on Day Three.

HSY opened Day One with Divine Decadence in which he showed style influences from his travels and exposure to various cultures, as well as his 20 years in the fashion industry as a key player. He showed dominant shades of blue and beige and red and gold fused with black in the two-tier presentation. Standouts in his segment included a cowl back blue top with heavily worked sleeves as well as other pieces that could be worn as separates.

The styling in the segment was done in extreme with chains as headgear and body accessories. Overall, the collection remained highly experimental with the powerhouse of fashion’s name being the propelling factor behind its success with fashionistas. It made some very interesting, sweeping style statements.

Sania Maskatiya showed colourful embroidered floral bridals with minimal diamantee bling and something that was very unlike the designer’s usual approach to her craft.

After the mid-break, Asifa & Nabeel, Saira Shakira and Karma Red showcased theirs bridal wear collections. The show production and choreography on all the three days is by HSY Events, frontstage management by Maheen Kardar Ali, backstage management by Production 021, Hum TV the official media partner, CityFM89 the radio partner and media management by Lotus.
