TIMERGARA: Tanzeem-i-Asateza, a teachers’ wing of Jamaat-i-Islami, on Sunday demanded of the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments to include Islamic contents regarding ethics, values, brotherhood, unity and bravery of Muslims in the school syllabus to enable the nation to face emerging challenges.

The demand was made during the concluding session of a two-day training workshop held at Ahya-ul-Uloom Balambat here. The workshop, organised by Tanzeem-e-Asateza, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, was attended by its members, associate members, teachers and workers of Jamaat-i-Islami from Lower and Upper Dir, Chitral and Bajaur Agency.

Speaking on the occasion, Tanzeem-i-Asateza central chief Professor Mian Mohammad Akram asked teachers to prepare the coming generation for facing challenges. He said the country was passing through a critical situation where no one was secured.

Mr Akram said that Pakistan was rich in natural resources, but its citizens had been facing poverty, lawlessness, ignorance and corruption. He asked teachers’ community to focus on students’ characters along with their education to prepare them for competition.

The organisation’s provincial president Dr Syed Zahir Shah highlighted the achievements of the holy prophet through education and said that all Muslim teachers must follow in the footprints of the prophet. He accused the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of handing over education sector to NGOs.
