Attack on PTV

Published September 17, 2014

This refers to the letter on the above issue (Sept 14).

I would not like to comment whether the attack on PTV was right or wrong nor comment on the wisdom of leaving it unprotected by the law enforcement agencies, especially when protection of five other important buildings on Constitution Avenue was assigned to the army.

I am, however, wondering what led the writer to believe that former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan was a brother-in-law of Roedad Khan.

He seems to be equally unaware that Roedad Khan has written an excellent book Pakistan — A Dream Gone Sour, first published in 1997, which also covers in depth important personalities dealing with Pakistan from President Ayub Khan to President Farooq Leghari.

One may or may not agree with their views but their patriotism has always been above board and both are essentially Pakistani at heart.
