QUETTA: At least four people were killed and six others injured during an armed clash between two groups in Balochistan's Naseerabad district on Monday, police said.

Amir Muhammad, the Deputy Superintendent of Police told Dawn that the two armed groups clashed over distribution of water in Baba Kot area of Naseerabad district.

He confirmed that four people were killed and six injured during an exchange of fire between the two warring tribes.

"Exchange of fire continued for more than one hour," Muhammad added.

The injured were rushed to district headquarter hospital Naseerabad for medical treatment where an emergency was imposed to deal with the bodies and injured being admitted.

More policemen were called into Baba Kot to bring the situation under control.

"Both groups fought over distribution of water in the area," the DSP stated. "We are investigating the incident," he added.

Dozens of armed men on both sides were involved in armed clash that caused panic in the area.
