HYDERABAD: The Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party on Sunday decided to stage protest over MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s statement about bifurcation of Sindh into administrative parts.

STP leader Jam Fatah Samejo who chaired a meeting of senior party leaders here on Sunday said that no power on earth could divide Sindh because it was homeland of 50 million Sindhis.

He said that MQM and Altaf Hussain had always issued such inflammatory statements. Sindh showed great magnanimity by giving refuge to millions of refugees after the creation of Pakistan and if the Sindh assembly had not passed a resolution in favour of Pakistan there would not have been any country by the name of Pakistan, he said.

He said that Sindh showed great respect to refugees and provided them equal opportunities for progress. Sindhis were prepared to lay down all kinds of sacrifices to protect their motherland, he said.

He said that no son of the soil could not even think of dividing Sindh. The MQM chief who was feeling his grip weakening on the party was staging such dramas to get attention of his party leaders and workers.

Protest rally

SUKKAR: STP activists took out a rally in Thull on Sunday in protest against MQM chief’s statement in which he demanded creation of another province in Sindh on administrative grounds.

The leaders who led the rally said they would not allow bifurcation of Sindh at any cost and strongly resist it.
