MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf President Javed Hashmi said on Friday immaturity of politicians resulted into the intervention of the army in politics.

Hashmi, talking to the media after reaching Multan in the morning, denied any differences with the party leadership.

"I have returned from the sit-in due to personal reasons and there were no differences with the party leadership as all the decisions had been taken after consulting me," he said.

He said the decision of meeting of PTI Chairman Imran Khan with Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif was taken by the four senior party leaders and he was one of them.

Mr Hashmi said he still believed the army should not intervene in political affairs and whatever had happened was not good.

"Despite all this, while I was coming to Multan I was happy that the issue was going to resolve without any bloodshed," he said, adding that the public had been confined to a blind alley as the both parties (government and protesters) were not ready to trust each other.

He said the third umpire being mentioned by the leadership of PTI was the public.

"You could be the third umpire. I could be the third umpire and public could be third umpire," he clarified.
