Rescue 1122, VSO sign MoU

LAHORE: The Punjab Emergency Service and the Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) International have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a volunteer management system (VMS).

The VMS will establish socially responsible, healthy, safe and resilient communities through community emergency response teams by the execution of community-based disaster risk management programme.

The MoU was signed by the head of community safety wing of Rescue 1122, Roqiya Bano Javed, and VSO Programme Manager Sheryar Ahsan Khan, and endorsed by Punjab Emergency Service Director general Dr Rizwan Naseer and VSO Country Director Neva Khan at Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Friday.

According to the MoU, the VSO will also provide technical support to Rescue 1122 for the Emergency Services Academy.

Dr Naseer said Rescue 1122 was working to establish socially responsible, healthy and more resilient communities.
