Malik enters second round in style

KARACHI: Malik Hamza underlined his talent in the second round of U-18 singles event when he won without conceding a single point in the first round of Indus Pharma National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championship here at Karachi Club on Wednesday.

Malik found little resistance from Hyderabad based Mohammad Zeeshan and recorded an immaculate 6-0, 6- 0 victory.

In other matches, Aqeel Shabir defeated Mohammad Bilal by 6-3, 6-2 score to secure his place in the events second round. Ibrahim Iltifat also entered into the second round after beating Uzair Ghaznavi by 6-0, 6-3 score.

U-18 first main round: Malik Hamza bt Mohammad Zeeshan (Hyd) 6-0, 6-0 Aqeel Shabir bt Mohammad Bilal (Hyd) 6-3, 6-2 Ibrahim Iltifat bt Uzair Ghaznavi (Nawabshah) 6-0, 6-3.

U-16 first main round: Jay Kumar bt Nadir 6-3, 6-3 Bilal Imran bt Shahzil Malik 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 Nauman Aftab bt Zeeshan 6-2, 6-2.

U-14 first main round: Mujahidullah bt Sameer 6-3, 6-3 Amin Shafi bt Mutahir Mehdi 6-0, 6-0 Zubair Raja bt Mohammad Dada 6-3, 6-1 Nabeel w/o Mustafa Admani Noor -e-Mustafa bt Muhammad Ali 6-2, 6-2.
