LAHORE: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan has criticised Imran Khan for continuing with his sit-in though all his constitutional demands have been accepted by the government.

Talking to the media here on Tuesday, JUP President Ijaz Hashmi said the PTI chairman’s insistence on continuing with the protest was uncalled for as five of his six demands had been accepted by the government. Urging Khan to show flexibility in his political approach, he said the cricketer-turned-politician should do serious politics and pave way for electoral reforms through talks in the parliament.

Hashmi warned that the continued sit-in had not only risked the very existence of democracy in the country but it had also defamed Islamabad at world level because of prolonged closure of foreign embassies.
