Mr Sharif should resign because he manipulated the May 2013 elections as an opposition leader? Opposition is never in the world held responsible for any misconduct of the government. No political pundit of any sort and anywhere in the world predicted Imran's landslide victory in the elections. Nawaz Sharif won because that's what the surveys, the commentators, and the pre elections polls were predicting. He remained favourite during the whole of campaign. Imran only added chill in the elections, otherwise it might have been a boring practice.

It will be a waste talk. The constitution and laws of Pakistan has no provision for removing the Prime Minister of Pakistan by public protests, threats, sit-ins and Dharna Bazee. Only duly constituted Parliament of Pakistan can remove Prime Minister through proper procedure enshrined in laws of Pakistan. There is no provision for removal of Prime Minister for 30 days or even a day. The Prime Minister has much greater responsibilities for security and law and order in the entire country than to deal with few opponents. Those who wish to remove Prime Minister must lobby Members of Parliament to get the support of majority of them. If the majority wants to keep the Prime Minister, there is no other option, just to live with it until next election. The constitution and laws of Pakistan will prevail, not the protests, marches, sit-ins, Dharna, road blockade, slogans, threats to enter Parliament building or Prime Minister's house or any kind of force. It is an hour of trial for Pakistan whether it lives by rule of law or by rule of lawlessness.

PTI should never back down. Nawaz has to go.

I used to be PML-N voter but after the revelations of Afzal Khan and Zardari visit to Nawaz Sharif makes me wonder on both accounts - Rigging Election and Noora Kushti - Imran Khan was quite right...

Prime Minister should never resign under street pressure. He should resign only if his involvement is established through a judicial enquiry. People who ridicule judiciary are either dictators like Mushraf or have minds like that of dictators.

PTI is winning elections in Punjab in presence of all state machinery and most tribunals have decided in favour of PTI.If PMLN can not use any influence while being in govt how were they managing to use their influence being in opposition or during catetaker setup.The only demand not accepted is that of resignation of PM.Why doesnt PTI bring some proof with everybody's help to show some evidence that he was involved in rigging.If NS has nothing to do with rigging why should he resign.If he resigns PTI will come up with something else even more funnier.

The demand for resignation definitely sets a dangerous precedent. We are headed back to the politics of 90s. Now PTI may be better than PPP, but if it does come into power after this entire episode but fails to keep its very extravagant promises to the public the roles might be reversed and pmln would be demanding Imrans resignation, and so the cycle continues. Guess who suffers? Surprise surprise its the public. I can almost guarantee that if Nawaz completes its 5 year term then PTI would come into power and then based on the performance again and again!!! But ofcourse us lesser mortals can onoy hope for the best.

NS shouldn't back down. Lies have been fabricated to corner the government to free Musharaf and nothing more. Afzal Khan has clearly denied having any proof. He is a PTI supporter as substantiated by his twitter account and pictures on media at the jalsa. His self righteous confessions/ allegations are biased and questionable since he is a PTI member and will hence support them. Justice Fakrudin and Justice Tassaduq Jillani are considered among the honest and fairest judges of their tenor. Ex army chief Kayani on record called the elections 2013 among the fairest and so have the foreign observers. If PTI is so sure that PMLN cheated then they should let judicial investigation led by Nasir Mulk who IK also trusts. Plus the government has accepted PTIs demand to appoint the head of FIA and Nadra for verification process and appointment of secretary ECP. These steps should be enough to verify the allegations. Also the PM will resign in case the supreme court finds evidence of mass rigging. IK should let of his ego. For PTI trolls, even if NS steps down he will do so to stop anarchy and not due to pressure from PTI TUQ. Whine and cry as much as you guys want NS is more of a man then IK is or will be. Continuation of talks among political parties is good idea, As alternate is violence, loss of lives and possibly a martiallaw for a period of time. At this stage, its best that all agree to a 'unity government' or caretaker government, that would hold new elections within six months. First three months to figure out 'election reforms', next three months for short election compaigns. Let these political parties present their platform (manshoor), what the will do for down trodden desperate people of Pakistan (not for themselves, their family members or close friends). Five years is too long, should be four year terms. There should be a mechanism to throw out government which proves to be corrupt of fails to perform. Its sad to see our elders who sacrificed so much to build this country (now gone), and now next generation is suffering under new dynasties.

The only way to bring about reforms in the system is through a vote in the parliament - a motion, 2/3rd support, voting, a bill is passed, etc. If not done constitutionally, then it's null and void and successive governments do not have to honour it. Case in point being all reforms Musharraf brought in, were signed by the president, went through court and proper channels, were all in the end overturned by the courts in 2008.

I do understand the Dr. Qadri demand as indeed the Governement needs to be held accountable for the Model Town incident it was brutal and unacceptable. I how ever do not understand the IK allegation that have so far not been proofed at all. He keeps on adding people in his allegations but has yet to come up with some credibility. He is riding on Dr. Qadri genuine case and is cash ing for his short cut politics. That is not the most straight forward way to move forward. I just find him so fake in general more over people like Sheik Rasheed and Shah Mahmood Qurashi who are complete idiots makes it even harder to some how associate one self with IK. I think it is not about the Country any more it is about their personal desires.

It is my firm belief that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif can not uphold the constitution of Pakistan and become a hostage of Mr. Imran Khan and Maulana Tahirul Qadri, he is not worthy to remain as Prime Minister of Pakistan and must resign unconditionally. This is not a free ticket to Mr. Imran Khan or Maulana Tahirul Qadri to take over control of government. Instead the Army should take full control of government until law and order is fully maintained and free elections are held. (Just one man's opinion).
