Five killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: At least five people were killed during two separate incidents of firing in Karachi on Saturday, DawnNews reported.

A Sajjada Nasheen and two caretakers belonging to Hazrat Baba Shah Noorani shrine were killed in Korangi’s Nasir Jump area when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on them.

The Sajjada Nasheen was identified as 70-year-old Zakir Shah whereas the two caretakers were identified as Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Yunus, respectively.

Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

The attack was reportedly of sectarian nature.

Meanwhile, two people were killed on Drig road at Chawla stop when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on them.

The victims were identified as Asif and Aashiq, respectively. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

Each day innocent people are killed in Karachi for quite some years not months or days but for what. I know even police chiefs have been removed and new faces posted but result it nil. I know it had been so when Gen Musharraf was on the throne and it continued alike during Zardari and no change since HEAVY MANDATE took over. @Dhananjay Based on what conclusion? death of endangered camel specie or something else. I am not sure what country citizen you are but I was born,raised and educated in Karachi. Where you do not find dirty politics? India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka you name it.

@Zahid Hussain You are just trivializing what Dhananjay wrote.You cannot keep justifying Karachi incidents by giving other examples. But, if you really like taking this route, then please let me know in which city people are being killed today just because they belong to certain sect or religion? In which city of the world the administration is as dormant and lethargic as it is in Karachi and in Pakistan?
